All I know is that the devil comes to KILL, STEAL, and DESTROY!
When you say something that is “biblical” people get shy or back off. Here’s the truth though. Absolutely NOTHING that we fight is just of this world. For we don’t fight against flesh and blood, but against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
You start saying things like this up above (quoting scripture) and people say things like “she’s a holy roller now,” or “he thinks he’s better since he started going to church”, “oh but I know who they really are” and they start pulling out the skeletons of a closet that has now turned into a war closet.
If you don’t believe this – just ask the couple who started coming to church, but had to back off cause things were getting worse in the marriage, other relationships, or just their life in general. Ask the teen who is trying to live for Christ when the world is trying to tell them it’s more fun to live like the devil. Ask the church leader who is consistently faced with condemnation or criticism. Ask the adulterer/drug addict/alcoholic/ porn addict, who has been forgiven, if the temptation doesn’t creep up on them at their weakest moments….
If you’re not praying for a loved one, yourself, or interceding on the behalf of someone you may not even know- the darkness could be overcoming them. It may swallow them up and lead them back down a path of darkness and even to death.
Most of us think that we are not worthy enough to ask for salvation, protection, or guidance from God for ourselves or others. And we’re not. You’re right! We are ALL dirty sinners who fall short of the grace of glory each and every day. BUT it is due to this very reason that we acknowledge that we NEED a savior. Someone to rescue us from our self-made messes, guide us when we are unsure, and to possess a small, still voice within us, telling us what to do and how to show others HIS love and grace. It’s NOT about us or what we can offer, it’s all about HIM and that’s where many of us get it wrong. When we try to put our faith or our worth in ourselves, we sub-come to feelings of weakness, guilt, shame, uncertainty, unworthiness, or insecurities.
But God has promised us life. He’s promised us a hope and a future. A future for OUR good and HIS glory! He’s told us He’d never leave us or forsake us. That when the dessert is dry, He’ll provide the water we need. When the famine takes the last bit of energy we have left- HE WILL CARRY us!! When the seas need parting, the mountain needs to be moving, the sickness needs healing, the bleeding needs to stop, the lame needs to walk, the blind needs to see, the deaf needs to hear, or just the believers need reassurance- HE gives us just that. In the very moment we need it, He gives it.
Jehovah Jireh- my provider
Jehovah Rapha- my healer
Jehovah Shalom- my peace
Jehovah Elohim- my eternal one
Adonia- my Lord!
If you read this and could not get past my flaws or mistakes, my fleshliness or past, then you have certainly missed a blessing. One that was not from me. When we are obedient to His voice and do things that He asks, He will reward us- For our treasures are not of this world. My treasures are stored in heaven awaiting the day that I meet my maker, my savior face to face- oh what a day that’ll be.
God certainly is using you… my beautiful, precious friend…. To further His kingdom!
I NEEDED this tonight… in the season I am in right now!
I constantly fight the demons who say I am not worthy enough to be saved, forgiven, loved, and used for God and His glory…. And, I’m not… but, God sent His only son to die for my sins and anyone that might be willing to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior!! And, He can use me for His glory at any time…. Slowly, quietly, even if just for a short moment.
I love you!! Thank you for sharing this! I have missed reading them!!
